CHICAGO (CBS) — If you’re looking for something to do or somewhere special to stay in our fair city, it just so happens that there’s an app for that.

As WBBM Newsradio’s Bernie Tafoya reports, the new Choose Chicago app is put out by the city’s tourism office, which is also called Choose Chicago. It is available for iPhone and Android users.

The app is fairly straightforward, with a calendar of events; tours; arts and entertainment information; and dining, shopping and nightlife options.

The app also provides the latest Chicago weather, allows users to keep track of their favorite attractions, and connect to the Facebook and Twitter pages for Choose Chicago to receive daily updates.

There is also a deals tab, but it appears to have some kinks that still need to be worked out.

Also apparently not quite ready for primetime is the dining tab, with which users are supposed to be able to filter by cuisine and neighborhood.
