Konerko, Santiago Return To White Sox As Hudson, Septimo Go To DL

(CBS) As expected, Paul Konerko was activated from the 7-day disabled list Friday in Kansas City, but that wasn’t the only move the White Sox made.

Konerko is the designated hitter, batting fourth as the White Sox open up a weekend series against the Royals.

Orlando Hudson and Leyson Septimo were placed on the 15-day disabled list and Hector Santiago was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte.

Hudson suffered a contusion of the first metatarsal joint in his left foot Wednesday, while Septimo is struggling with left biceps inflammation.

Santiago returns to the team after being optioned to Charlotte July 30. The White Sox sent him down there to start and Santiago did not allow a run in three games (14.2 innings).

Here’s the full lineup.
