Dems Select Replacement For Ousted State Lawmaker
CHICAGO (CBS) – Democrats have chosen a replacement for former state Rep. Derrick Smith, who was expelled last week for after being indicted on a bribery charge.
His party replaced him Friday with a Chicago policeman, Eddie Winters, to serve out Smith's term, which ends in January.
Smith says his former colleagues rushed to judgment and that he will win his seat back in the November election.
