"People loved Gary Brown, and what I know of her: mild-mannered, quiet, nice Asian woman," said Charles Hardwick, who is employment manager of Howard Area Employment Resource Center, where Brown worked. It's where Brown met Cathy Lee, who was doing some research a few years ago and came to the office to use the computers.

Hardwick says Brown will be greatly missed.

"I don't even know how to replace Gary," he said. "He did so much for so [little] money. I don't even know how to replace him."

Hardwick says Brown was very open - and never mentioned anything negative that could have been going on in his life.
