Sunny Skies, Low Humidity Make For An All-Around Beautiful Day

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The sticky, icky humidity that made your skin crawl on Wednesday is gone now, and the rest of Thursday will be an all-around beautiful day.

CBS 2 Meteorologist Megan Glaros says as of 11:20 a.m., it was 81 at O'Hare International Airport, 82 at Midway, and 78 at Waukegan. A cold front swept through overnight, and while it hasn't cut the temperature too much, it has reduced the humidity.

Meanwhile, a lake breeze will keep conditions relatively cool and comfortable for the city and lakefront communities throughout the afternoon.

A ridge of high pressure is keeping skies sunny and humidity low. The overnight low drops to 65.

But don't leave your umbrella in the drawer on Friday, because more rain is coming. Cloud cover keeps the high at only 77 Friday, and a 50 to 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is in the forecast as another cold front comes through.

And come Saturday, you might feel like carving pumpkins. The high is only 70, followed by a high of 71 Sunday, 73 Monday, 75 Tuesday and 76 Wednesday.
