Man Accused Of Attacking Woman While Wearing Clown Mask

ADDISON, Ill. (CBS) -- Police say a 19-year-old Addison man put on a clown mask and attacked a woman as she got out of her car in broad daylight this week.

DuPage County Sheriff's police say around 12:25 p.m. Thursday, a woman reported that she had been attacked by someone wearing a clown mask.

The woman said she was getting out of her car in the 3-N-400 block of Center Court in unincorporated Addison, when the masked man tried to restrain her. She struggled with him, and he fled, police said.

The attack was captured on video, and police later arrested Luis D. Barajas, of the 200 block of Michael Lane in Addison.

Barajas was charged with one count each of aggravated battery, unlawful restraint, and obstructing justice – all felonies – and two misdemeanor charges.

He was expected in bond court Friday afternoon.

Police believe the attack was an isolated incident.
