(WSCR) Derrick Rose is spending his offseason thinking about more than just coming back from ACL surgery.

The Bulls point guard and Simeon Career Academy graduate spoke out Tuesday on Twitter regarding the teachers’ strike currently surrounding the Chicago Public Schools.

“I’m sitting here just thinking how sad it is that my city got to go through this. I love my city and everyone in it even my haters!” said Rose on Twitter.

“I don’t like that fact that OUR kids are not in school and that’s the only thing we have to SAVE these kids,” Rose later tweeted.

Chicago Public School teachers are now on strike for the third consecutive day.
