Don't Miss This

(WSCR) Much has been made over Jay Cutler’s actions during the Bears-Packers game a week ago.

But it’s now Week 3 in the NFL, and the Bears must shift their focus to the Rams, who come to Soldier Field this Sunday.

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher joined The Mully and Hanley Show to talk about what type of quarterback Cutler can be on the field. The veteran coach said Chicago is lucky to have a quarterback like Cutler under center.

“I’ve mentioned this over the last couple of days,” Fisher said. “As far as Jay is concerned, Chicago is fortunate to have Jay Cutler. He’s a very, very good player. He’s the kind of quarterback, a franchise quarterback, that you can win a championship with. There are not many of those around. Everybody is looking for those. I’m not privy to all the things that are going on there, (but) my opinion is let Jay play and trust Jay that he’s going to get them to where they want to get to. He’s an outstanding talent and he’s a great person. He’s very competitive and he’s proven over the years that he can win games.”

Though the Bears’ offense struggled in Week 2, Fisher said fans need to be patient and give the offense time to get in rhythm.

“Clearly, they’ve certainly upgraded the offense with the receivers,” he said. “In the big picture, you got the receivers out there and you got the running back healthy, you got a chance to do some really good things. We’re really early in the season. We’re two games into the season. I think people just need to be patient. It takes time to gel and get on the same page. You’ve got the talent there to win a lot of games.”
