Sunshine, Cool Temperatures For The Afternoon

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Sunshine and cool temperatures are on the docket for Thursday afternoon, and look for a warm-up coming next week.

CSB 2 Meteorologist Ed Curran reports we can expect a fall feel in the air throughout the day. The wind is blowing northeast about 5-10 mph, and a rip current advisory is in place for the Illinois, Indiana and Michigan shores of Lake Michigan.

As of 11:20 a.m., the temperature clocked in at 61 degrees at Waukegan and O'Hare International Airport, 63 degrees at Midway International Airport, 62 degrees at Joliet, and 64 degrees at Kankakee.

Clouds were coming off the lake with a cool breeze, but conditions were sunny around Chicago.

The high on Thursday will hit 66 degrees, compared with a norm of about 70. Overnight, the low will drop to 47, with a north wind remaining at 5-10 mph.

The high on Friday is 68, Saturday 72, Sunday 69, Monday 74, Tuesday 75, and Wednesday 80.
