CHICAGO (CBS) — The Bears are down a man, going into their bye week.
Rookie wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is out for up to six weeks with a broken right hand.
On WBBM Newsradio’s Bears Insider last night, Lovie Smith said: “He’ll be banged up for a while, but we know we’re getting him back sometime this year.”
Smith is feeling more comfortable with the overall status of his team through five weeks.
“We feel OK about a 4-1 record,” Smith said. “Going into the bye week you want to be playing good football.”
