Video: Solider Surprises Family At South Carolina Football Game

(WSCR) Roughly 85,000 college football fans witnessed a very special moment for one Georgia family.

The Faile family, now stationed in Augusta, Ga., was selected by the Columbia Metropolitan Airport as the "Military Family of the Game" during the South Carolina-Georgia game at South Carolina's Williams-Brice Stadium.

During the half-time show, Tammy Faile and two of their three children, Breanna and Cameron, were treated to a video message from the family's father, Army Sgt. 1st Class Scott Faile, currently stationed in South Korea.

"I really would like to be there to watch the Gamecocks beat up on Georgia," Faile said in his message. "Just keep in mind my tour is over soon."

At the end of the recorded message, Scott Faile appeared in the corner of the end zone, surprising his family at home for the first time in a year.

"I had absolutely no idea. I mean, I didn't even have a thought. That's what just made it so overwhelming," Tammy Faile said. "I think the entire stadium was in tears. Over 85,000 people were in tears."

This marked the conclusion of Sgt. Faile's third tour of duty. He was previously stationed in Afghanistan and Kuwait.
