CHICAGO (CBS) – Mayor Emanuel has unveiled Chicago’s new cultural plan — the first such document in 25 years.
The mayor says he’d like to see a thriving arts scene.
“I can say first-hand as somebody who has seen the Old Town School Of Folk Music that moved on Lincoln Avenue, which was at one point desolate, and there is all that energy that comes when you invest in your neighborhoods,” Emanuel said.
A cornerstone of the cultural plan is making arts education a core subject in Chicago schools.
