Report: Harbaugh's Declined Safety Caused $75 Million Swing In Bets

(WSCR) When 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh declined a Seahawks penalty in the endzone that would have resulted in a safety late in the fourth quarter last night, he did more than just alter the score of San Francisco's win.

The decision to decline the safety resulted in the 49ers winning by seven instead of nine - meaning San Francisco did not cover the spread.

Depending upon when a bet was placed, the Seahawks were getting 7, 7.5, or 8 points.

According to a report, this decision caused a $75 million swing worldwide with bettors overall losing to bookies.
