Marlins Fire Ozzie Guillen After One Season

(WSCR) The Miami Marlins have fired manager Ozzie Guillen after one season, the team announced Monday.

With a record of 69-93, the Marlins finished in last place in the NL East in Guillen's first season with the club.

Guillen was signed to a four-year contract before the 2012 season. He is still owed $7.5 million.

The 48-year-old Guillen signed his deal with the Marlins after being released from his contract with the White Sox two days prior to the end of the 2011 season.

Guillen managed the White Sox for eight seasons, winning a World Series in 2005.
