CHICAGO (STMW) – A motorist driving the wrong way on Lake Shore Drive crashed into a vehicle, causing its driver to suffer injuries early Friday.

A 28-year-old woman was driving a Buick LaCrosse south in the northbound lanes of South Lake Shore Drive at 55th Street about 4:10 a.m. when she crashed into a Oldsmobile Ciera traveling north, police News Affairs Laura Kubiak said.

The driver of the Ciera, a 42-year-old man, was taken in good condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Lanes were not closed due to the accident.
