Police Search For Driver In Deadly Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Chicago police say they are now looking for a blue, gray, or dark-colored Mercury Grand Marquis in relation to a deadly hit-and-run in the city's Belmont Central neighborhood Saturday night. Police say they learned about the accident just before 9:40 p.m.

Police say the vehicle may have damage to the front-end passenger side and front windshield. The vehicle has Illinois license plate number R336195.

The crash happened on the city's Northwest Side, at Diversey and Mason.

Chicago police say the 21 year- old victim was walking with friends and was trying to cross the street, when he was hit.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as Jose Alfredo Sosa. The Medical Examiner's Office says Sosa sustained traumatic injuries to his head and face.

An ambulance took Sosa to Illinois Masonic Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
