(WSCR) The Cubs search for Bob Brenly’s replacement might end sooner rather than later.
According to a report from CSN Chicago, Dan Plesac, Rick Sutcliffe, Eric Karros, Todd Hollandsworth and Gary Matthews are scheduled to interview for the position this week.
The same report indicates Plesac, who used to host the Cubs pre- and post-game show, is the favorite to land Brenly’s spot.
One hurdle for Plesac is the multi-year deal he just signed with MLB Network. Though, the Northwest Indiana native could be inclined to return home.
