Kelly Will Let Others Worry About BCS Debate

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly isn't interested in stepping in to the debate over which teams should play in the national title game.

Kelly says the main reason is because he doesn't think lobbying will help the fourth-ranked Fighting Irish (9-0), saying if he did believe it would help he could talk all day. He says the only thing that will help is if Notre Dame is winning, so that is what he is focused on.

The Irish sit fourth in the BCS standings, behind Alabama, Kansas State and Oregon.

Kelly says another reason why he doesn't talk about it is he wants his team to maintain its one-game-at-a-time attitude that has the Irish off to their best start since 1993 heading into Saturday's game against Boston College.
