CHICAGO (CBS) – One of President Barack Obama’s favorite restaurants in Hyde Park is offering free breakfast today, to celebrate the president’s victory Tuesday night.

Crowds packed the popular breakfast spot Valois, 1518 East 53rd Street, on Wednesday morning.

The “Obama Breakfast” offer–coffee, eggs, potatoes, sausage or bacon and toast–was good until 11 a.m. today.

Valois offered the same deal in 2008 when Obama became the first African-American president in U.S. history.

Some folks who were there in 2008 made a point to return in 2012.

“I came here four years ago, it’s delicious,” said Michelle Sharp. Pointing to her friend, Tyisha Smith, she added: “She called my at 5:30 and said, ‘We’re doing breakfast at Valois.’ “

“It’s definitely about being proud of him,” said Smith. “Who cares about the free meal. Thanks Obama, keep doing your job, baby!”
