Dobbins On Cutler Hit: 'He Ran Into Me'

(WSCR) Texans linebacker Tim Dobbins has an interesting explanation for the illegal hit he laid upon Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.

The hit gave Cutler a concussion and led to his exit from the game.

"I did not hit him in his head, and actually he ran into me," Dobbins said. "I just felt like he was going to take off and run with the ball and I thought he was past the line."

With just under three minutes to play in the first half, Cutler threw a pass down field at the line of scrimmage, as he let go of the ball, he was drilled by Dobbins, who was issued a penalty for an illegal hit.

"I knew he came out of the game, but I didn't know he had a concussion. ... I'm definitely worried about it, but I felt like it was clean though. I did not hit him in his head and I felt like I didn't lead with my helmet. … I was very surprised he went down to the ground, but I hope he is alright though. He is definitely a tough quarterback."
