Illini Land Key Recruit Austin Colbert

(WSCR) Though his time with the Illini has been brief, head basketball John Groce is showing promise in his recruiting.

Groce today landed Austin Colbert, a 6-foot-9 forward from New Jersey, who will sign a letter of intent Wednesday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Ranked a 3-star recruit by Scout.com, Colbert also considered Miami, Villanova and Seton Hall.

The Tribune reports the Illini also plan on signing wings Kendrick Nunn and Malcolm Hill, point guard Jaylon Tate and center Maverick Morgan.
