(WSCR) The Bears tried out punters today at Halas Hall Wednesday as punter Adam Podlesh continues to struggle.
670 The Score’s Zach Zaidman reported the news on Twitter.
“Normally, every week, there’s someone we look at,” head coach Lovie Smith said Wednesday, adding that Podlesh is healthy.
The punter suffered a hip flexor injury in the preseason against the Redskins, but has not missed a regular season game.
On the season, Podlesh ranks 30th in the league with an average distance of 41.7 yards per punt. His net average, which factors in return yards, ranks 21st in the league at 38.4 yards per punt.
