Man Charged In Deadly Hit-Run Accident In Rogers Park
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run accident in the West Rogers Park neighborhood Monday night.
Fernando Jasso Perez, 23, faces felony counts of reckless homicide with a motor vehicle and failure to report an accident, death or injury. Perez was also issued various citations that include driving an uninsured vehicle and not yielding to a pedestrian.
Perez, of the 6400 block of North Campbell Avenue, is expected to appear in bond count on Thursday.

About 6 p.m. on Monday, Tsering Dorjee, 44, and his brother-in-law were crossing a street near West Devon and North Maplewood avenues when a dark blue Volkswagen Beetle struck them, police said.
Dorjee was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston at 11:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Dorjee received his U.S. citizenship last month after immigrating from India 18 years ago, said his wife, Kalsang Wangmo. He was the vice president of the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce and worked for almost 14 years in the Cook County Clerk's office, she said.
Wangmo's brother, Dakpa Jorden, 46, was also injured in the collision and suffered a fractured neck and leg, she said.
Dorjee, the former president of the Chicago Tibetan Society, met his wife in India when they were 8 or 9. They had three sons ages 6, 3 and 1.
