CHICAGO (CBS) — A Fenwick High School teacher won the “Jeopardy!” Teachers Tournament and a $100,000 grand prize.
In an episode that aired yesterday, 29-year old Colby Burnett beat two other finalists in the contest.
It was taped about seven weeks ago.
“It’s amazing, it’s what I came here to do,” said Burnett, who is an advanced placement world history teacher.
Burnett says he intends to use the money to buy a condominium for his mother.
“I think about all she sacrificed to make sure I had this tremendous education and tremendous thirst for knowledge,” Burnett said.
