Hazing Scandal Widens At Maine West High School

CHICAGO (CBS) -- More victims have reportedly come forward - in an alleged hazing scandal involving the Maine West boys soccer team.

That's according to the lawyer for a 14-year-old whose parents have filed a lawsuit against the school district.

Attorney Antonio Romanucci tells the Chicago Sun-Times that five current or former players have told him they were also hazed.

The teenager at the center of the lawsuit says he was held down, beaten and sexually assaulted by older players on the school's soccer field in late September.

The school says it's given information on the case to police and child welfare authorities.

The president of the District 207 school board says hazing is something that's not tolerated.
