City Shuts Down Nearly Three Dozen Businesses Tied To Gangs

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Mayor Emanuel is cracking down on crime by targeting neighborhood businesses with ties to gangs.

The mayor says the city has already closed down nearly three dozen businesses that were fronts for gangs.

The city has also demolished hundreds of vacant buildings which served as hubs for criminal activity.

And the city has opened up more than 100 new investigations into other businesses.
