Expert Picks: All But One Picking Bears To Beat Seahawks

From The Mully and Hanley Show

Don't Miss This

(CBS) The Bears got back to their winning ways last week, but they’ve had problems with the Seahawks in the past. Most of our experts from 670 The Score, CBS2 and WBBM Newsradio 780 & 105.9 FM think they’ll be just fine this week though. Here are their picks:

Brian Hanley Dan McNeil Terry Boers
Bears 17, Seahawks 16 Bears 26, Seahawks 17 Seahawks 20, Bears 16
The Bears will do just enough to get past a Seahawks team that is 1-5 on the road. Seattle is playing its second consecutive game away from home after coughing up a 17-point lead in the final eight minutes at Miami last week. I don’t like how the Bears match up in key areas and there’s nothing to like about the musical Bears offensive line. Still, a second straight roadie for a bad road team? Bears add to the stack. In general, everybody loves Dick van Patten. The iconic actor has appeared in about a gazillion TV shows and movies. But does he know football? Van Patten told me earlier this week he was mulling it over. That’s called Patten pending. Finally, I got it. Seahawks 20, Bears 16.
Record: 8-3 Record: 9-2 Record: 9-2

Bears injuries are a concern and ‘Hawks will have their “druggie” CBs, but Seattle stinks on the road. They traveled all the way to Miami and back to get beat last week with Marshawn Lynch under 50 yards. The Bears should want revenge for the pounding the Seahawks gave them last year. Trouble is ahead for a Bears offensive line that will be blitzed and stunted by a capable Seahawks front. The tight ends and Matt Forte must show up in a brawl of a game. The Bears stick to the identity established last week, running relentlessly to churn out a couple long touchdown drives. They somehow survive Brandon Marshall’s least productive day in several weeks on the strength of a big day for the defensive line.
Record: 8-3 Record: 9-2 Record: 10-1

If this game were in Seattle I’d be picking the Seahawks. But it’s not. It’s going to be an ugly Bears win. By now we’re used to those. The Bears will score two touchdowns and add two field goals as Seattle will score one touchdown and three field goals. Bears win. Russell Wilson shined at Soldier Field last year, but he’s no longer playing NIU. The Bears will stuff the run and turn the reliable Wilson over at least once.
Record: 9-2 Record: 8-3 Record: 9-2

The Bears win a grind it out game between two struggling offenses and stingy defenses. It’s going to be a battle of two strong offenses with both teams struggling in the passing game. The Bears survive despite injuries. Seattle has lost its five road games by an average of just 4.8 points. And rookie QB Russell Wilson is protecting the football, averaging 2.2 TDs/0.25 INTs in his last 4 games (1.1/1 first seven games). But only a colossal mistake derails the Bears at home.
Record: 8-3 Record: 11-0 Record: 10-1
