Report: White Sox To Sign Jeff Keppinger
(CBS) According to CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman, the White Sox will sign utility infielder Jeff Keppinger to a three-year deal.
Keppinger will help fill the void at third base with Kevin Youkilis likely leaving, but the eight-year veteran has never played more than 137 games in a season. Last year, he batted .325 in 115 games with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Keppinger is a career .288 hitter who averages 59 RBI a year. He is a contact hitter who rarely strikes out.
Multiple reports say the three-year deal is worth a total of $12 million.
