Census Offering Hyper-Local Data On Communities

CHICAGO (CBS) -- You can now find a profile of your community or neighborhood, based on reams of information from the US Census Bureau.

Senior demographer Scott Boggess says the Census Bureau's American Community Survey, based on Census data from 2007 through last year, offers a profile of each suburb or neighborhood.

He says the data can be vital to community planners looking ahead to transportation or educational needs.

You can find the information at census.gov by clicking on American FactFinder under the data tab.
