Teens Accused Of Torching Bushes

MINOOKA (STMW) -- Two teens were arrested after allegedly setting bushes on fire Tuesday in far southwest suburban Minooka.

About 2:30 p.m. some bushes were set ablaze on public property in the 200 block of Rivers Edge Drive. Officers saw a 16-year-old Channahon boy and a 17-year-old Minooka boy walking nearby and learned the 16-year-old had started the fire with a cigarette, Police Chief Justin Meyer said.

He was charged with vandalism while both boys were charged with marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released to parental custody.
