It was a normal batch of homemade potato chips made by Rocco Gailloreto, the owner of Flatlander Market in Marengo.

"Suddenly, there was this little tiny chip that had a little potato skin on it that looked like swaddling clothes, and suddenly I said, 'Oh!' And it just kind of came to me. Baby Jesus."

And then he built a whole nativity scene out of potato chips.

"You see it or you don't. People go, 'What is that?' Most people look at it and do a double take and go, 'Oh, OK. I get it.' "

"I don't see it as something divine. It's more abstract art, if you will."
