Boy, 16, Shot In Neck On South Side In Serious Condition

CHICAGO (STMW) — A 16-year-old boy is in serious condition after he was shot in the neck Friday night on the South Side, police said.

The teen was in a car in the 200 block of East 51st Street when he was shot once in the neck about 11 p.m., police said.

The boy was then driven to Mercy Hospital where he was dropped off, police said, but was later transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County for treatment.

No one is in custody, though police say several people have been questioned.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
