Report: Bears Request Interview With Bruce Arians

(WSCR) Bears general manager Phil Emery has another name on his list of head coaching candidates.

According to a report from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the Bears have requested an interview with Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. Though, the request is only a formality as NFL rules prohibit the Colts from denying the request.

Though his title is offensive coordinator, Arians stepped in as the Colts interim head coach in the absence of Chuck Pagano this season. Under Arians, the Colts, led by rookie quarterback Andrew Luck, put together a 9-3 record en route to a playoff berth.

Reports indicate the Bears have already interviewed Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael. The club has also expressed interest in talking to Buccaneers offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan, Packers offensive coordinator Tom Clements and Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.
