CHICAGO (CBS) — A man has been charged after he allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend in the early hours of the new year.

Robert Terrell, 20, of the 2500 block of West 61st Street, faces two counts of attempted first degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery, Chicago police said.

About 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Terrell went to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in the 5900 block of South Maplewood Avenue and shot the 32-year-old woman in the back and head.

The woman remained in serious condition early Friday.
