Oddities: Light A Fire With Doritos, Shave With Peanut Butter

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Need to start a campfire but you don't have good kindling? Need to get rid of that 5 o'clock shadow but you used that last dollop of shave cream?

Or, what about cleaning a toilet without bowl cleaner?

CBS 2's Vince Gerasole talked with Joey Green, an expert in using household products for odd jobs, at the Chicago boat show. Green has a solution to those vexing (albeit random) problems.

If you need to jump-start a campfire, pack a bag of Doritos.

Totally flammable. Tasty, too.

They would probably be useful to start that grill for a backyard barbeque.

As for that shaving problem. Hit the pantry and slather on some creamy peanut butter. Vince tried it this morning, and it seems to work.

And the toilet?

Pour a can of Coke down there. The acid will help clean up the mess.
