Around The NFL: Nick Saban Staying Put, Rob Ryan Ousted, Lovie Smith To Philly?

Any talk going on in the NFL right now should be all about the playoffs and how the Divisional Round is looking incredibly exciting. Well, that just isn't the case, as something else has taken to the spotlight: coaches. There are those leaving, staying, arriving, and ranting, but there's still so much to know.
Nick Saban not looking for NFL work again; Sticking with Alabama

When Nick Saban tried his hand at work in the NFL, he didn't fare too well in a two-year career with the Miami Dolphins. He figured that his best years were behind him and that there wasn't much success to be had in the NFL. Well, he may not have realized that his best years were actually ahead of him, and that is why he is more than content staying put at the University of Alabama.
He knows that the college game "is where I belong, and I'm really happy and at peace with all that."
These words come less than one day after Alabama had a dominating 42-14 victory over Notre Dame as the Tide won their second straight BCS national title. Saban said that he thought he could impact the game of the Dolphins as he did in college, but that it was very difficult for him.
His time in Alabama is far from over, and it is far from being its best.
Cowboys fire defensive coordinator Rob Ryan – Ryan rants on termination
Rex Ryan was able to keep his job, but his brother Rob was released from his defensive coordinator position with the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. There was one year remaining on his contract, but it was time to go after his defense finished 19th overall in the league. Ryan thought he had proven himself.
"I inherited a team that was 31st in the league in defense and made them better," Ryan told ESPNDallas.com's Tim MacMahon. "I (expletive) made them a hell of a lot better. I'll be out of work for like five minutes."
There were a number of injuries that hindered the Cowboys defense during the season, but Ryan did a decent job still. He did all that he could with the players he was given and the starters he was missing.
Lovie Smith to interview for head coach position with Philadelphia Eagles
Former Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith didn't end up getting the job to turn around the defense of the Buffalo Bills, but he is now attempting to land in Philadelphia with the Eagles. Smith has been added to their list of candidates and will interview for the job on Thursday.
After releasing Andy Reid, who is now the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Eagles have interviewed a number of candidates including Oregon's Chip Kelly, Penn State's Bill O'Brien, Atlanta assistant Mike Nolan, and many more. They are far from finished though.
Besides Smith, the Eagles will also interview Indianapolis offensive coordinator Bruce Arians and Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley at some point this week. Permission has also been granted by the Cincinnati Bengals so that the Eagles can interview offensive coordinator Jay Gruden.
