'Lincoln' Leads Pack Among Oscar Nominees

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The epic film about the final months of Illinois' first president led the pack among Academy Award nominations on Thursday.

Steven Spielberg's 'Lincoln' took in 12 Oscar nods, including best picture, best actor (Daniel Day Lews), best director and best supporting actor (Tommy Lee Jones) and actress (Sally Field).

Also among the 9 nominees for best picture Thursday: the old-age love story "Amour"; the Iran hostage thriller "Argo"; the independent hit "Beasts of the Southern Wild"; the slave-revenge narrative "Django Unchained"; the musical "Les Miserables"; the shipwreck story "Life of Pi"; the lost-souls romance "Silver Linings Playbook"; and the Osama bin Laden manhunt chronicle "Zero Dark Thirty."

One local Lincoln expert found the film to be historically accurate, WBBM Newsradio's Regine Schlesinger reports.
