New Twist In Death Of Lottery Winner

CHICAGO (CBS) – A new twist in the death of a million dollar lottery winner.

The man's in-laws had reportedly run into deep money troubles.

An autopsy showed that Urooj Khan was poisoned before he could cash his lump sum lottery check.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Khan's father in law owed more than $120,000 in back taxes.

Police want to talk to the father in law.

His daughter, and Khan's widow, Shabana Ansari, has hired a criminal defense attorney.

She told the Sun-Times she is eager for investigators to dig up his body to learn "the truth."

"I really want them to go for it because I really want to know what exactly happened," the soft-spoken Ansari said. "I wish God will reveal the truth — the sooner the better."

Authorities already know Khan died from cyanide poisoning, but have yet to determine how it got into his system.

Investigators could exhume Khan's body as early as next week
