Serial Hair Salon Robber Strikes Again In Skokie

SKOKIE, Ill. (CBS) -- An armed man who has robbed hair salons in Chicago and several suburbs struck again Thursday afternoon, this time robbing a Supercuts store in north suburban Skokie.

Skokie police responded to a 911 call about 12:25 p.m. at the Supercuts at 3539 Dempster St., police said in a news release. A man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt entered the salon, pulled a black handgun and demanded money, then ran away. No one was injured.

"He pulled a gun in front of my face, and he says to me, 'The money,'" store manager Nana Khoshaba tells CBS 2's Mike Parker. "Oh my gosh, that's a very scary situation."

The armed robber reportedly got away with $245.

An employee of the salon recognized the suspect as a man pictured in a police alert which had been sent to area hair salons after the suspect robbed salons in Chicago, Bensenville, Lombard, Skokie, Niles, Glen Ellyn and Morton Grove, according to police.

He is described as a white man 35 to 40, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-1 and 200 to 230 pounds.

Anyone with information should call Skokie police at (847) 982-5958 or the Crime Tip Hotline at (847) 933-8477.
