Two Killed In Head-On Crash In Mount Greenwood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were killed and a woman was injured in a traffic crash early Sunday in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood on the Far Southwest Side, police said.

The fatal crash happened about 2:20 a.m. in the 3400 block of West 115th Street, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

A vehicle crossed the center line and crashed head on into another vehicle, police said.

A 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were killed in the crash, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Their names were being withheld pending notification of their families.

The head-on collision pinned some of the people inside the wreckage, and sent a woman to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious-to-critical condition, according to unconfirmed dispatch reports.

Chicago authorities are investigating the crash, which happened on the city's border with south suburban Merrionette Park, authorities said.
