List Of All Bears Head Coaches In Franchise History

Marc Trestman became the 14th coach in Chicago Bears history. Here is the list:

  • George Halas (1920-1929, 1933-42, 1946-55, 1958-67)
  • Ralph Jones (1930-32)
  • Hunk Anderson (1942-1945)
  • Luke Johnsos (1942-1945)
  • Paddy Driscoll (1956-1957)
  • Jim Dooley (1968-1971)
  • Abe Gibron (1972-1974)
  • Jack Pardee (1975-1977)
  • Neill Armstrong (1978-1981)
  • Mike Ditka (1982-1992)
  • Dave Wannstedt (1993-1998)
  • Dick Jauron (1999-2003)
  • Lovie Smith (2004-2012)
  • Marc Trestman (2013-)

Ditka and Smith were only coaches to take Bears to the Super Bowl, with Ditka winning the title in 1985. George Halas coached the Bears to eight NFL championships in the pre-Super Bowl era.

Halas has the best winning percentage at 68.2, followed by Ditka at 63.1.

Abe Gibron had the worst winning percentage, 26.8 percent.

Since 1967, the last season that Halas coached the team, only two coaches--Ditka and Smith--have had winning records for the Bears.
