$1 Million In Cash Seized In Gage Park Drug Arrest
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Police seized more than $1 million in cash Tuesday night after arresting two men on drug charges in the Southwest Side Gage Park neighborhood.
The discovery came after police working an anti-gang mission arrested Cuauthemoc Beltran, 38, and Juan Carlos Tafolla, 27, in the 5300 block of South Rockwell Tuesday night, according to police News Affairs release.
Authorities believe the cash -- $1,048,000 in all -- is related to drug trafficking because a Chicago Police dog detected the presence of narcotics on the money, the release said.
Beltran and Tafolla, also of the 5300 block of South Rockwell, were each charged with one count of misdemeanor possession of cannabis, police said.
