CHICAGO (CBS) -- The arrests of three Schaumburg police officers on drug trafficking charges could jeopardize cases in Cook and DuPage counties.

Cop Arrests May Jeopardize Cases

Schaumburg police officers Terry O'Brien, Matthew Hudak and John Cichy worked in a tactical unit team.

Now cases they were involved in are being reviewed by prosecutors in both Cook and DuPage counties to determine whether the officers' arrests taints any of those cases.

DuPage County State's Attorney Bob Berlin says he contacted Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez to inform her of the arrests.

Berlin says Alvarez told him Cook County prosecutors would review "every single case that's pending in Cook County where these officers are involved in."

Berlin says the officers were involved in one case in DuPage County and that case will be reviewed to decide "whether to proceed."

The officers are accused of stealing marijuana and cocaine confiscated from drug dealers and having another dealer sell it for them.
