2 Men Charged In CSU Shooting That Killed High School Student

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two men now face First Degree Murder charges for the death of a 17-year-old high school student.

The shooting followed a basketball game at Chicago State University, Wednesday. Michael McNabb, 32 of Chicago and Stephen Gilbert, 29 of Alsip were charged Friday.

Officers say the two are responsible for the shooting that killed 17 year-old Tyrone Lawson, a Morgan Park High School student who was preparing to leave Wednesday's game between his school and Simeon High School.

The shooting followed a fight that broke out in Chicago State's gym while the players were shaking hands. That fight spilled out into the parking lot, and Lawson was shot twice in the back while trying to run away.

Chicago State University Police are handling this murder investigation, but have yet to release further details following the arrest.

McNabb and Gilbert were ordered held without bond Saturday.
