Man Shot While Driving On Stevenson Expressway

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot while driving on the Stevenson Expressway Sunday night in the South Side Bridgeport neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. on the Steven Expressway near Ashland Avenue, Illinois State Police Master Sergeant Jeanette Beck said.

The man was driving northbound on the Stevenson when a vehicle pulled up next to him, the window rolled down and someone fired three shots from a handgun, Beck said. The man was struck once in the forearm.

The man, thought to be in his early 20s, drove himself home and his brother drove him to Swedish Covenant Hospital, where he was treated and released, Beck said.
