CHICAGO (STMW) — A man was shot as another man tried to rob him in a West Side alley Saturday morning.
About 10:30 a.m., the man was walking through an alley in the 4800 block of West Van Buren Street when an older brown car pulled up near him, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
A man got out of the car and attempted to rob the victim, but a brief struggle ensued, during which the victim heard a gunshot and then realized he had been shot, Estrada said.
The other man fled the scene. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, with a gunshot wound to his right leg, Estrada said. According to police, his condition was stable.
