Woman Dies After Jumping From High-Rise In Uptown
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman jumped to her death from a high-rise building Friday in the North Side Uptown neighborhood.
A 54-year-old woman jumped from the sun deck of the high-rise building where she lived in the 4100 block of North Marine Drive at 6:36 p.m., police said.
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:48 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
A suicide note was discovered in the woman's apartment, police said.
An autopsy to officially determine the cause and manner of her death is scheduled for later Saturday.
Area North detectives are investigating.
