North Suburban Man Struck, Killed By Metra Train

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Metra train struck and killed a north suburban man Saturday night in the Northwest Side Logan Square neighborhood.

James Springer, 44, was fatally struck by a train near the intersection of Fullerton Avenue and Pulaski Road, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Springer, of the 19000 block of South Prospect Drive in Mundelein, was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:51 p.m., the medical examiner's office said.

A Metra spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment.
