Are You Ready? IRS Says You Can File Your Taxes Wednesday

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Ready or not, taxpayers can begin filing their returns online tomorrow.

Most people aren't thinking tax season yet but, more than 120 million households can begin filing electronically, now that the IRS has adjusted to tax law changes recently enacted by Congress during the fiscal cliff talks.

While there might not be such a thing as a free lunch, there are places where you can get free tax preparation services.

The largest tax services provider, H&R Block, says for the next couple of weeks through Feb. 15 it will offer free preparation of the federal 1040EZ return.

You can also visit the website, MrFreeStuff.com for a list of other free tax filing services, although you're advised to read the fine print before choosing any of them.

The filing deadline is Monday April 15.
