Bears Hire Tibesar As Linebackers Coach
(CBS) Tim Tibesar, Purdue's defensive coordinator last season, was hired by the Bears to be the new linebackers coach.
Before joining the Boilermakers' staff in 2012, Tibesar worked for new Bears head coach Marc Trestman in Montreal as the Alouettes linebackers coach from 2009-10 and defensive coordinator in 2011.
Tibesar was also the defensive coordinator at Kansas State in 2007 and 2008.
Purdue's defense underachieved last season, ranking 77th in total defense and 87th in scoring defense.
